LASER CUT LAKE MAPS
After seeing something similar but unable to buy one for myself, I instead decided to create my own. Using the laser cutter in the engineering building on campus, I had 8 layers of wood cut via laser and glued together to create a bathymetric chart of Crater Lake, Oregon. I had a hard time figuring out how to get the program to recognize the top layer as something I wanted to be etched into the wood, so instead I printed it with printer ink and a transfer pen. This was the final result, and I'm quite pleased - I want to make more!
